I/we wanted an easy way to mirror my phone (LG G3 (with unlimited data)) to the TT's tv to watch baseball games (I have an MLB subscription) & watch movies that are stored on my phone or that I have copies of through the Google cloud.

So I ordered a SlimPort-to-HDMI adapter:

http://www.slimportconnect.com/

I ordered it from Amazon ($31.20 with Amazon Prime):

http://www.amazon.com/Official...ref=cm_cd_ql_qh_dp_t

Here is an updated list of supported phones & devices:

http://www.slimportconnect.com...t-supported-devices/

It worked immediately upon plug-in.

What is really nice is that it doesn't need power, wifi, or bluetooth to work.

2 notes -

- Your device must have the SlimPort chip installed - check the supported devices link above.

- You need a high-speed HDMI cable that can handle 1080P and above - package pic. of such a cable below.

Bruce -

I plug it in to the back of the tv (the audio plays through the stereo though).

*The HDMI socket on our 2014 stereo is in the back of the stereo inside the cabinet.

Unfortunately, it looks like Samsung doesn't install the SlimPort chip in their devices so I don't think it would work with your phone.

Be sure to post your findings when your adapter arrives.

Nice!

In my opinion you couldn't have picked a better phone (at the moment).  It is far-and-away the best phone that I have ever owned.  Smooth, fast, responsive, perfect screen size (5.5") with almost no wasted real estate around the screen, fits in a front pants pocket,  double-tap with your finger to turn it on & off, ...

If you have any questions feel free to ask.

My first suggestion - take it slow.

Here are some things I do with my phone -

Calls, email, text, alarm clock, calendar, track my mountain bike rides & walks as well as calories burned, count & log my pushups (did this 10 minutes ago in fact), count daily steps, listen to & watch any/all MLB games (can't watch (but can listen to) A's &/or Giants games here though - stupid blackout rule), full access to my banks & investments, listen to any/all of my cd's, watch Netflix, listen to the radio, listen to podcasts, listen to audio books (that I borrow from the library), read the news, get a cup of coffee, use as a level & compass, check-in for a haircut before I arrive, have access to my AAA card, flashlight, geocache, find hiking trails, search & navigate, topo maps, sky/star map, take & record my heart rate, ...

Jeff, I have tested the Samsung Micro USB to HDMI adapter cable.  Verdict:  it works amazingly well in mirroring the S4's screen to the television.

Here is a pic of the adapter cable.  Unlike the SlimPort, the Samsung adapter requires a separate power source via a USB/Micro USB cable.

To get it to work, turn on the S4's screen mirroring function.  It didn't immediately work, but after disconnecting and plugging the adapter back in, the phone found it.

I am impressed with the clarity of the television picture.  Here is a pic of a Netflix movie being streamed by the S4 phone and mirrored on the Jensen:

The grandson will be thrilled that we can stream his favorite shows or rent a movie!

That is excellent news.
It really looks good on the Jensen too.

Cell service and wifi was sketchy at the cg this past weekend so we couldn't watch a game or a movie, but I did have an episode of a cartoon show ("Regular Show" - season 1 was free last week in the Play store) in my phone's memory so our son watched it.  Worked & looked great!
